With a 14th Hussar through Mesopotamia 1916 - 1918, Wadi River to Ramadi
This account of the Mesopotamia Campaign is taken from various papers and diaries of Sgt R.E. Holland who died in December 1989. Unfortunately much of the handwritten diary was missing but the account of Ramadi was complete and the original papers are now in the possession of the KRH.
This booklet is factual, historically correct and produced by Michael Holland (14th/20th King's Hussars 1861-1978), the son of Sgt Holland.
The account of the whole campaign is a soldier's account without the knowledge, information and planning available to those of higher rank. It shows the confusion, boredom, uncertainty and the extreme hardship of the soldier's lot in his daily life.
